We felt we need some sort of entertainment and we needed some
sort of communication.
So our forefathers set down and think what can we do? When we
want to communicate to someone - maybe I am in the village here
and then there is my brother in the other village and I want to
call him to come. Maybe I need his help or something.
At first they shouted: "OHHHHHH".... And then the other person
hears it and he responds the same "OHHHHHH".....
But now that "OHHHH, OHHHH, OHHHH"....can maybe just move from
here to here!
So they were thinking how this sound can travel far.
So they thought of creating something that will give more loud
sound.
So they tried to cut a tree - because the tree, when they cut
it, the tree falls down. They know that this tree can make a loud
noise.
When they cut it, they start to use other sticks just to hit it.

Wir spürten, daß wir Unterhaltung brauchten und wir brauchten
etwas zur Verständigung.
Also setzten sich unsere Vorfahren zusammen und dachten nach:
"Was können wir machen, wenn wir uns mit jemandem verständigen
wollen? Wenn ich hier im Dorf bin und mein Bruder ist im anderen
Dort und ich will ihm sagen, das er kommen soll."
Zuerst riefen sie. Der andere hörte sie und rief zurück.
Aber das Rufen kann man nicht so weit hören.
Deshalb überlegten sie wie sie lauter sein konnten.
Also fällten sie einen Baum. Wenn der Baum abgeschlagen wird,
fällt er um. Sie wußten, daß das einen lauten Krach macht.
Als sie den Baum gefällt hatten, benutzen sie Stöcke um darauf
zu schlagen.
